Charlie Sheen gets pink slip.

CNN reporting as breaking news that the top rated show ‘Two and a Half Men’ has been cancelled for the rest of the season. The wording would suggest that a fresh season might be possible if promises were made, but who would bet money on that bet? Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. 😀

I agrre, his on screen ability is at variance with his off screen performances, but then that is the mark of an accomplished actor/ress isn’t it! 😉

It’s been fascinating to watch his rants…you’re not quite sure how much is real and how much might be a put on.

In some of his interviews he seems fine (his use of language is well byond what most impaired people could use), in others, he seems really out of it.

Either way, I wish him the best…and he gets the help he needs.

Yup, it is the market. And the only “right” price is the price something can sell for, be it a banana, a car, a house or a movie star.

Don’t misunderstand me. I realise that market conditions apply but I was only expressing a point of view about the sorts of sums of money “big stars” can earn on US TV. Hugh Laurie has certainly benefitted…………….;)

Pierce Brosnan went down the same route re the Bond movie he failed to shoot, it would seem that £20.000.000. wasn’t enough for him, so he was shown the door.
And quite rightly so I.M.O.H.O.

Yes, I agree with your comment, as I implied in my earlier post. It doesn’t mean we have to agree with it, does it? How did you manage to omit civil servants and senior local government officials, many of whom are grossly overpaid and where of course economics does not dictate?;)

And don’t we think musical artists, sports stars and bankers are all overpaid? Economics dictate. 😉

It was a good show as evidenced by the ratings and consequently the actors salaries. The writing was excellent, good humour with the right touch of sarcasm. Charlie was ready to quit earlier in the series, so asked for a larger salary which the producers were happy to agree to, simple market economics.

I couldn’t give a monkeys. A million dollars plus for an hour’s TV – utterley luducrous. He has certainly done his “career” no favours, the more fool him.

I never thought much of it either Kabir. Always changed the channel when it was on. Charlie needs to make another ‘Hot Shots!’ 😀

A million dollars per episode lost! Now that’s not ‘winning’! :diablo:

Is it me or was the show not even that good to begin with?
