Loganair along with the Scottish Parliament have announced upto 30% off the normally expensive costs of flying from Glasgow to some of Scotland’s remote airfields such as Tiree, Benbecula and the famous beach landing at Barra in the Outer Hebrides. The savings come into effect from July 1st and are intended to boost tourism and travel in these areas.
No excuses now for not taking the Twotter to Barra folks !:D

Cheap? Let’s say Less Expensive or from Very Expensive to Expensive. But the fares for sch a small plane are probably normal, are they, if you compare what else you could do with that money, or what other flights you could take, then you don’t want to go there anymore. Let’s see, with that money, hmm think I can make a return trip to New York with KLM. I could save it for a new computer or a new camera.
You probably all disagree:D.
If you’re not making a day trip, is it cheaper then?

I’ll be doing a picture special of the beach landing tomorrow or Wednesday when I get the pics from my BBC colleague who did the trip two weeks ago.

Might try and go now. Landing on a beach is something that everyone aviation fan has to experience! 😀

Excellent, Might just join you. Always fancied a go in one of those.
but prices of £150+ for a simple day trip were prohibitively expensive.
EDIT: Ok, just made a dummy online booking check, for a day trip on 5th July it’ll cost me £ 154.70
and I’m only in Barra for 2 hours!! 😮
Obviously the cost savings haven’t been written into the online booking form, but these are the prices thast have stopped me boarding a twotter thus far
