Just to let everyone here who is in the UK know, there is currently a dirt cheap Blenheim DVD to be found in a few different versions, in different outlets.
In the book shop ‘The Works’, which I believe is national, you can get three individual volumes of ‘The Blenheim Story’ for £1.99 each.
Also available is all three compiled onto one 150 minute DVD, which I got today from ‘Hyper Value’ for £4! Not bad, for 150 minutes! Though I believe that Hyper Value is only local to me.
Anyway, it’s all based on ALL the material that was filmed-and there was obviously a hell of a lot of it- for the original ‘Blenheim- The Forgotten Bomber’ docu that was done at the time of the FIRST Blenheim taking to the skies! Indeed, that sadly short-lived beauty adorns the covers of all the versions of the DVD.
I’ve only seen a little bit of mine so far, but clearly, the whole lot will be made up of old Blenheim crews telling their stories, with archive footage and footage of the original restored aircraft etc.
Just thought it might be of some interest!

The thing is, these films may be pretty poor quality by most standards, but where else will you get these old guys’ memories down on record? How many of them have passed away since ’87, when I think most of this was filmed?

I got the 3 volumes about a month ago (thanks sis), but haven’t had a chance to watch them all yet.
I’ve seen about 15 minutes of it so far, and yes, seems to be mainly of reminiscences by the crews etc.
Nice air-to-air footage of the first restored Blenheim. Worth a look.
