Check your Computer !!

I have been well and truly Hacked on my Hotmail account, even though I have the paid version of AVG, a Hacker has found a “Back door” it would seem on AVG.
Just a headsup to you all to be wary.
I have not been able to receive Emails or send on my Hotmail, ont Comp or mobile.
Now sorted, but at a cost, these Hackers want castrating.

How do you know if you have been attacked?
Is it a passive attack and they are snooping information or is it a determined attack. Deleting emails, sending your friends porn etc.
What did you do to fix it?
This might be useful to anyone who has an account.

I was locked out by virtue of the fact it wouldn’t accept my password which I knew was correct, I was unable to change the password either. It was an online Computer Company that took about 2 and a half hrs to sort out. The hacker had managed to STOP many things within my Comp, which just stopped me dead in my tracks. AVG had also let several Trojans into my Comp.It would appear that this was a high tech guy phishing info from my comp.

It would appear they are targeting Hotmail users Moggy, I too use gmail, and couldn’t get on there also. So, yours is rectangular, black, (As opposed to blue?.) and lights on the outside, guess you have the updated version of the Tardis. 😀

When you say “Check your computer” what exactly do you have in mind?

I have looked at mine. It’s black, rectangular and has some lights on the outside. Beyond that, what is there I can do?

I use Microsoft’s own Security Essentials, never download anything I have the slightest worry about, use GMail exclusivey.

What more can a chap do?

Something similar happened to me a couple of years ago.
Since then, I don’t store any email addresses on there.

Too late Chas, and apart from that, I would have to inform far too many friends all over the place, but at least it’s sorted, I was told, they are trying to trace the I.P. address, but this guys a bit too intelligent by all accounts.

According to the Company that sorted my Comp out, it’s the Hotmail accounts that are being attacked, if that helps, Last time I pay for AVG, I thought they were the dogs B********.

Bad luck Linc:(. Is it a Hot Mail problem perhaps….we’re all vulnerable to a greater or lesser extent.
