Here are some pictures i took at Chicago Midway recently… i know most of them did not turn out that good, but i took them all from inside the aircraft with a Canon s45 so thats the reason.

Sometimes the camera will focus on the glass rather than the object. My old camera had a button you could press to override the range detector and put the camera into an infinate view mode thus eliminating any problems from shooting through a window. Check your camera you might have a similar feature.
the camera is actully focused on the plane in most pictures its just that the sunlight made the reflection from the glass pretty obvious… and i didnt really know how to work around that at the time

Fascinating pictures – never been to MDW but I’d like to some day, especially to catch the ATA and the Saabs.
Just a tip… Some of your pics show window reflections. You need to put your camera right up against the window so its touching the glass, and if you’re shooting at an angle to the window you also need to try to shield the gap between the camea and the window at end where the camera is furthest away from the window – use something dark so reflections don’t creep in (it can be a multi-handed job and gets complicated, but its worth trying).

hmm thanks for the tip….yeah reflection was a big problem and had to throw out a bunch of pictures because of that. So was bluriness but i think thats because of my camera

I’ve always wondered, does Midway actually handle any international flights or is it used purely for domestic services?
ATA and Southwest are the 2 big airlines out of MDW and Southwest doesn’t do any international. Looking at ATA’s route map it appears they do a number of international flights.

Which is the older of the two airports, Midway or O’hare, and where are they situated in regards to Chicago
Chicago Midway opened as Chicago Airpark in 1923. O’Hare opened in about 1945. In 1962 all commerical traffic was transfered to ORD making it the busiest airport in the world Obviously MDW started commerical operation again in the future.
ORD is about 15 miles to the NW of Chicago while MDW is 10 miles to the SW. They’re fairly close to each other. MDW lies under the Class B airspace of ORD.
