China and Backfires AGAIN!?

Carlo Kopp has to be certifiable! In the September issue of Australia Aviation magazine he has written an analysis on the Tu-22M Backfire. He has quoted Hong Kong media reports from June stating that China intends to acquire the Backfire as part of a new strategic force.

Does Kopp simply write this stuff just to get paid? Is he really that desperate and stupid?

The Hong Kong media has proven in the past to be notoriously unreliable when reporting, or making claims about the PLA and it’s various arms. I have had the word from some more reliable sources on China’s arms not to trust Hong Kong rags.

Does Kopp not know this, or again, is he just producing dribble to get paid?

Why the hell does anyone think that the Russians are going to suddenly turn around today and sell China Strategic Bombers?

Surely a so-called respected Journalist and Defence analyst is not going to write purely on speculation from a very much less than reliable source??

Heaven forbid!

I swear, either he is desperate and really fishing for anything to write about, or he is deranged and into some semi-obsessive alarmist scare mongering for the sake of trying to convince the RAAF to buy more than it will EVER need. Or, both!

My god! How the hell does he get this stuff published?
