Authoritative sources from the Chinese aviation industry told Kanwa’s correspondent that CATIC has developed SD10 (Lightning 10) active radar guided AAM. Currently, the development of this type of missile is at the final stage. The research project uses CATIC’s own resources and has already finished the related tests on J8-2. SD10 would get the export permission from the authority very soon. Batch production of SD10 has not yet started.
