China in 200 Boeing aircrafts deal

The US has signed a $45bn (£28bn) export deal with China, according to a Washington official.

The trade deal includes a $19bn purchase of 200 Boeing aircraft.

It comes amid an official state visit by China’s President Hu Jintao to the States.

Boeing chief executive Jim McNerney was among a host of American chief executives present at a Wednesday meeting with Presidents Hu and Barack Obama at the White House

Now there’s a whole new twist to the saying ‘a free lunch’

No wonder Barack-O invited Hu to the Whitehouse for a free lunch :diablo:

Hi 27vet

Now there’s a whole new twist to the saying ‘a free lunch’.- which I like.;)

Even at the cost of a White House lunch for a state visit by a foreign head of state, weighed against the 200 Boeing aircraft it’s a drop in the China Sea.:D

And here’s the URL for the official Boeing news release –

Big Boeing order from China dates back to 2007

The announcement of a huge Chinese order for 200 Boeing jets trumpeted with great fanfare early Wednesday was merely political window dressing for the state visit to the White House of Chinese President Hu Jintao.

The deal does not include any new jet orders.

There’s the clue!

Sarkozy in China = Airbus order
Jintao in the US = Boeing order
