Well, I suppose you can’t please everyone
A senior official with China’s aviation regulator said last week that Chinese airlines were “very interested” in the new Dreamliner, preferring them to the A380.
We are more interested in the 7E7 than in A380,” he told reporters.
“The A380 is too big, while the 7E7 seems a better choice for long-haul flights. We might place orders for the 7E7 in the future.
The China Daily said Boeing had submitted proposals to all three major Chinese carriers — flag carrier Air China, China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines.

Although the Chinese ARE buying about 20-30 A330s though.
Sandy carefully omitted that part 😉
I omitted it, as it was not pertinent to the thread. Mark.
As for the A380 selling, well as with the 7E7 we’ll need to see if it meets up to its forcasts. Airbus are not all that good at sticking to promises on performace, weight etc. as has been mentioned many a time here. If the A380 doesn’t perform it won’t sell. Same goes for the 7E7, although boeing are renowned for making aircraft wall about targets in performance.

awful, too big? whatever. If they want to generate revenue they have to take that leap and be adventurous.

I tend to agree Paul, theres nothing sells an aeroplane like one thats in service and earning its keep. Both the 707 and 747, two quantum leaps in civil aviation, are historical testament to that. I will have to research the 7E7 further, do these two aircraft actually have that much in common? Gratefull for any feedback. I think its just the timing thats wrong for China.

“They’ve already had the boys from Boeing round “, Hang on who invented dirty dealing, and anyway if the a/c fits the bill it will sell, dont forget once the A380 aircraft starts to see service it has the potential of gaining a lot of sales, thats always been the case for most aircraft. As long as there are 2 large airliner manufacturers then the airlines will always have a choice.

Not yet, just wait! 🙂

Wait for what?
they’ve cleary stated their preference.
I supose a bit of dirty dealing from airbus may sway the odd order in their favour.
