China's J-6 fleet

Does China still use the J-6 in a front line role, or do they retain them as lead in fighter trainers? It seems to me to be pointless to retain the J-6 as a front line combat aircraft given the sophistication of China’s neighbours, I mean the Chinese aren’t stupid, they must know the J-6 is no match for any modern fighter…right? So have they phased them out yet? It might be worth retaining them as hacks or first jet experiences for new recruits, but other than that what good can they possibly be? :confused:
