I don’t think China’s pilots will ever be as good as current US (remembering that US doctrine was formulated out of actual combat experience in Vietnam).

However I don’t think future US/Western pilots will be this good in the future.

As the article points out, the US is looking at cutting flight hours due to budget issues. Many European airforces are in a state of decline.

Plus I read that things like recent actions in Afghanistan, Iraq and previously no-fly zone enforcement actions actually erode pilot skill.
