CHINESE 'BARN FIND' ADVICE NEEDED PLEASE.

Hello all,
I work for half of the year in China, and always keep my eyes open for items of aviation interest.
I have stumbled upon a neglected but remarkably tidy jet fighter. Details withheld for the moment.
It is on a college ground and has become a dumping ground for litter and cigarette butts. Surrounded by long grass and weeds. It is not cherished in any sense.
It is engine-less and some airframe items are missing, such as port tailplane, but both cockpits are almost mint. The canopy was off the latch so I jumped in and was very impressed with what I saw.
I would love to start negotiations to buy this little gem, and bring back to the UK. Ambitious? Almost definitely. Possibly almost impossible. But I like a challenge. I would plan to strip it and keep the cockpit for myself, and part out the rest to anyone who would be interested. I don’t have the means to take it all on, let alone the shipping costs.
I have some contacts in China, and a couple of favours to call upon, so I can enquire as to ownership and possibility of purchase.
But what I am unsure of is the red tape at the EU end. As a former military machine would it be subject to import restrictions? What about other import limitations? I presume import tax would not be due on a museum piece like this?
I would like to establish if it is feasible at all to import this item, before I go down the road of showing my hand and making enquiries.
Thanks for many help offered.
Paul.

Ps:I will put some great pics up once I know which way things are going, but want to keep things a little quiet for the time being.
