Chinese character

This doesn’t really belong on this particular forum, but since there are some Chinese enthusiasts around here, I was hoping I could find an answer to this question.

I was in New York City recently, and of course I went to China Town. I didn’t intend to buy anything (I was there just to see it because I’ve never been to New York, and China Town is just a place you gotta go if you’ve never been), but naturally I saw something I just had to buy (just for the fun of it). It was this clock mounted on a stand, to which a metal model of an Su-27 was attached. There is a large Chinese character made of metal sitting under the airplane, and I have no idea what it means, if it does indeed mean something. I realize it’s a cheap item from China Town and it might not mean anything, but nonetheless it has me curious. I have attached some pictures of the clock for anyone who might be able to help me. The character is located just under the jet. Thanks to anyone who can help. Oh, and since I bought it in China Town I just call the jet a J-11 (who knows maybe it was intended to be that to begin with). Makes it seem more authentic. 🙂

Here are the pictures. (Sorry for the bad quality, but I took them with my camera phone.)
