In a world dominated by US, Russian and European military aircraft, China is the only major non-Western (Russia being an European nation first and foremost) supplier of aircraft.
It supplies the Developing world and especially South Asia where it is accepted as the leading political and military entity in the region.
Beginning with F-6 aircraft sold to Pakistan in the 1960s, Chinese aircraft has been exported to Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and soon Nepal (which was in talks for the Z-9 helicopter.)
40 years later, the Chinese aircraft, including the venerable F-7, are still a major part of the region’s air forces.
