China’s Defense Minister Gets Acquainted with New Sukhoy Company Developments

China’s minister of defense, General-Colonel Tsao Ganchuan [phonetic] during an official visit to the Russian Federation has gotten acquainted with the Sukhoy Aviation Holding Company’s new developments and with proposals for upgrade of the Su-27SK fighters that are in service into the Su-27SKM variant.

“On Monday, members of the Chinese military delegation headed by the minister of defense visited the flying base of the Sukhoy Aviation Holding Company in the Moscow suburb of Zhukovskiy. They demonstrated the new Su family of fighters to the guests from the PRC at the Gromov flight research institute airfield, and also proposals for upgrade of the combat airplanes in service,” a source in the Russian military department reported to Interfax on Monday.

No doubt the Su-27SKM is the export version of the indigenous Su-27SM upgrade.
