Chinese turboprops, types listing and pictures

What this nutty place needs instead of flamebaits is more pictures – and a discussion of military craft beyond the ho-hum jet fighters.

Here’s an eclectic look at the Chinese turboprops 🙂

Because of the exports of FT-5s, FT-6s, FT-7s, K-8s, J-6s, Q-5s and F-7s, the many prop utility and transport planes that China sells are forgotten. But the fact is, sales of the Y’s or the Yunshuji are a much more consistent business.

The version list of the Ys include:

Harbin
Y-11
Y-11B
Y-11T
Y-12 (several export versions, including the Canadian Twin Panda)

Xian
Y-7
Y-7-100
Y-7-200A
Y-7-200B
Y-7E
Y-7H (rework of the An-26)
Y7H-500
(MA-60, civilian version with Pratt and Whitneys)

Shaanxi
Y-8
Y-8A
Y-8B
Y-8C
Y-8D
Y-8D II
Y-8E
Y-8F
Y-8F100
Y-8F200
Y-8F400
Y-8F600
Y-8H
Y-8X
(A myriad of proposed AWE, AWAC and EW versions)
