A Chipmunk had engine failure and landed on the beach yesterday 2/25, at Prestwick. More details to follow.:(

Glad to here both are OK. Must have been a good landing – they both walked away AND someone can use the aircraft after them (following an engine swap).
It is always nice to here some good news in aviation.

from the Caledonian Chipmunks forum. not one of theirs but the crew and aircraft are in good health and only the tech problem with the engine to resolve. no damage to the airframe. aircraft now recovered by road.
