Are there any good flight sims available that offer a realistic Chipmunk flying experience?
Unfortunatly I’ve got a Vista pc so I can’t imagine many of the older games would work, grrrrr! :diablo:

A Google reveals…
Did you download this file? Try and have a go

Rick Piper’s website doesn’t seem to have been updates for ages and I wouldn’t be certain that I’m getting the latest files from it.

Nearly there
Looking at the download site from Classic British Flight Sim Rick Piper’s Chippy should work in FS-X, so no need for FS2004 :

“Jump jump John….”
I managed to find a shop selling FSX for £30, I’ve downloaded the above Chippy but I can’t for the life of me get the thing to appear when I go to the load flight screen in FSX.
As a relative newbie in the flight sim download world can anybody offer me a step by step (if necassary) guide to do what I can’t simply can’t?
Cheers!

Thanks guys!
Reading these positive posts has really cheered me up, I had a nagging feeling that the venerable Chipmunk had been omitted from PC flight sims!
I’ll be spending any free time I have in the next week or so trying to find a good value copy (ie cheap!) of FS2004 and get hold of the Chippy download and spend the coming monks reliving my Air Cadet days!
Thanks guys!

Yes, I doubt its Vista to blame. Now FSX is a different matter. Same firm, different department.
FSX has not been the best when it comes to ‘backward compatible’ but I’m sure you’ll find that virtually everything that was available for FS9 is now, or will be soon available for FX10.
Best wishes for your Chipmunk hunt. Did I spell that right?

The best Chipmunk for Microsoft flight sim is Rick Piper’s freeware model. It works in FS2002, FS2004 and possibly to some extent in FSX.
