Chipmunk in Irish Colours

Evening all, Just received this from Declan Curtis. His Chipmunk G-ARGG ex WD 305 has been given an Irish Air Corps colour scheme as No 169 and flew today at Audley End. The colour scheme chosen is at the time of delivery.Looks nice.

Hi Steve,
I believe it was Vintage Fabrics at Audley End. The colour scheme, markings dimensions and locations came from my files following Declan contacting me.
All the best

Great pics, looking at the pics showing the upper surface I notice that the walkways have a yellow surround. Never applied on the original scheme and not on the Air Corps instructions issued by the drawing office. Just wondering is this a new instruction/regulation ?

Chipmunk Canopies

Probably asked before but…
Does anyone know why the Canopies in British built Chipmunks is so different from those built in Canada? Personally I like the bubble type better and having flown one a couple of times I found the visibility excellent.
Thanks

Tony: PM received. Many thanks indeed.

I even found an old PM from you, from March 2006, discussing Irish Air Corp Chipmunks!

Sure, of course Janie we are old friends and they are the best.

Ground shot for MkV.

Regarding the Irish colours I have no doubt that Declan would have pushed all the right buttons and cleared it with the Air Corps. Nice to see the the Chippie in its service colours, many thanks for posting.
