Hi, I’m after a schematic detailing the RPM gauge installation in the Chipmunk to assist a restoration project – the system for the single Smiths Mk IV RPM generator powering two gauges (6A/1299 if I remember correctly). Does anyone have available a copy of such a wiring drawing or schematic?
While on the subject of the RPM gauges – I’m after a couple if anyone has some available.

Yes what he said. The wiring is slightly diferent for clockwise or anticlockwise rotation.

While not an approved document the pictures show extracts from a Smiths catalogue which gives technical descriptions of their instruments (using the Smiths codes of 78RV for the indicator and 54MV for the generator) and generic installations.
