Chippie parts sought – WG419

Hi All,

now managed to survey the Chippax and she is pretty much complete…only a few ‘niggly’ things missing…

Thanks to a fellow forumite, we should have a canopy shortly….

Can anyone help with these…

A fuse box cover – appears to simply clip onto front of fusebox (see pic)
Bulb – for power warning failure light
air vent knob
Goggle stowage pouch (ours is torn)
Knob for DI (see pic)
Knob for Altimeter. (see pic)
2x P11 compass – in reasonable, but not perfect, nick
Ix standard circular dimmer switch (see picture, baseplate still attached to airframe, top housing needed)

Thanks in anticipation….

TT

P.S. i know some of the above turn up on ebay, just wondering if any forumite can help – we are more than happy to pay a fair whack for them!

Hard to say whether ‘chief knob provider’ is an insult or compliment! Down to Bruce to decide I guess!

I’ll settle for Flypast Forum Chief Knob, and let you all decide what that means!!

I’d love to be able to help, but the chippie under my care is somewhat hollow… (NEAM’s WB685 located at NCL College….)… I MEAN HOLLOW – nothing in it except stringers….

Cheers RM –

Will wait and see what Uncle Bruce and Uncle Ritch can dig up first then will give Naylan a call – if we’d had time, we ought to have called in to Aeroventure when we picked her up – she came from the next village!

Ben – from memory you only have one air vent knob which fits on a rod which then comes through the instrument panel in the front cockpit.

Hi Bruce –

I’ve got poor old Ritch looking for us too…. but in essence we still need:

A fuse box cover – appears to simply clip onto front of fusebox
Knob for DI
Knob for Altimeter.

We would like…..

air vent knob
2x P11 compass – in reasonable, but not perfect, nick

Hope you can help and thanks again for your interest!

After a rather hectic weekend – a quick Chippax update…

Many thanks to David Burke for providing a canopy for our Chippie, this will be worked on over the next few weeks ready for installation.

Meantimes, I have given her a good clean, touched up some paintwork, (gaffer tape glue….euuuw – the worst thing to try and remove, even thinners is reluctant to touch it) and sorted out the interior, installed the chutes, and the dimmer switch and replacement bulb kindly provided by Dave Collins….

Oh, and she now has a serial number! External pics also for Dave T…

Look forward to hearing from anyone with other parts from the list they would be happy to sell/trade/swap!

All the best

You’re probably right DC, the only problem with her is space, she’s nice and compact at the moment and I’m reluctant to enlarge her ‘footprint’ too much, think the jury strut is an excellent idea and am sure that with the canopy ‘in situ’ we can have a play around and see what works best in the space we have.

Thanks again to all for help so far, look forward to hearing from you Bruce if you do find anything in your stores…. 😉

Meantimes if anyone has any of the other missing items, be delighted to hear from you.

Hi Ben

A rail for the rear canopy would be a good idea, like in the photo shown, but I would propose that making a 1-2′ stub rear fuselage would look equally good, and give more scope for positioning the roundel correctly.
