Chobert Riveter, free to a good home

I’ve been given a tatty wooden box containing a Chobert riveting tool and a variety of attachments and rivets, most of the latter are corroded and probably useless but the tool itself seems to be in good working order. The box is stamped RN with the WD arrow and has an Aviation Developments label, the tool is stamped RN 1944 so I guess it was FAA originally. I’ve got no use for it so am happy to pass it on to anyone who can put it to good use, all I want for it is enough to cover the postage, or you can collect it for free from the Chichester area, West Sussex.

Hi darnsarf,

Jon H is, at this very moment, on his hols enjoying the high-life in Mexico.

I will be sending him an e-mail tonight so will mention your offer. He is back next Monday (7th) so he will no-doubt contact you then.

Anon.

Thanks Anon, I’ve had a couple of other expressions of interest but Jon is next in line so he has first (second?) refusal.

Well that was odd, despite 2 or 3 promises to pay for the postage nothing ever arrived, the PMs dried up after a while and now the parcel is back with me (returned to sender) after lying uncollected at Preston sorting office

So Jon H, if you would like the riveter it’s yours, just send me a tenner for postage. PM sent. Like I told TwinPioneer the box and accessories are in poor condition, but the riveter itself being plated is in good nick and appears (I’m no expert mind) to be in working order.

Not really John,if Darnsarf is good enough to let me have it we are only a short distance from each other mate. And that would insure my promised trip to see you guys at Speke 😉
