Now that you are all nursing hangovers from last night and grimly facing work tomorrow, who had the biggest Xmas disaster.
Mine started badly with having to drive a 270 mile round trip in thick fog to pick up mother from Nottingham, it was pretty dismal.
On Xmas day, poor old madam was quite keen on the idea of preparing dinner for 7.
It started off ok, then the roast tatties fell on the floor while being taken out the oven to be surrounded by hungry dogs.
All the veg was put out, then it was discovered that the expensive local farm turkey was undercooked, fortunately we had a large cooked ham in the fridge and that had to do. By this time, madam was in tears and the whole meal was a disaster, she wouldn’t eat it. Poor thing, she was unconsolable, so we left everyone and went up to the stables to let in the horses in and try to recover.
On getting back, her father felt unwell and had to go home, we then spent the evening staring grimly at whatever crap was on the telly, fortunately, our neighbour came round late in the evening and mother got right on form and we ended up having a right old laugh.
Last night wasn’t much better, madam felt so crap that she fell asleep, post midnight was spent listening to some youth throwing up on the fence at the bottom of the garden, what fun.
It could be Saudi Arabia next year.

My Mrs usually stocks up the freezer about November so we won’t have to go shopping again until about February when the Xmas New Year rush is over..I went to extract the leg of ham from said freezer didn’t i ..didn’t quite shut the door properly so the door didn’t seal did it..consequently said contents ( about $400 worth) are all thawed and ruined..now that’s what you call a Xmas disaster..although something good came of it..the Mrs isn’t talking to me

Well I got home from work around 4am and haven’t had time to cultivate a hangover, ah well… 7 days off now to think about it. 😀
