Don’t I know it.
I’m already sick of it. In mid September I went into a pub that had a tree up and when I asked why I was told it was so they could get bookings for Christmas.
I have Muslim and Sikh friends who feel that they have to give gifts because of the retail fest also know as Christmas.
But please, Christmas is a religious festival, or it used to be.
Do you like Christmas or not? Don’t give the standard ‘It’s just for the kids’ reply. Take them to church and then I might listen.
I’m off to read a book called ‘A Grumpy Old Christmas’ 😀

I was in a certain supermarket in York last night and I happened to comment that I was sick of Christmas already. My better half suggested I was being a misery-guts and other such things and that I don’t like Christmas, but she had no answer when I replied “no, I do like Christmas, but on the 25th December not 19th November!”
The whole money-making scam seems to start earlier and earlier every year… 🙁

I love Christmas, but as has been said, it’s not all about who gives what etc. I go to Midnight Mass, on Christmas Eve with my wife. I have done this for as long as I can remember. My 3 sprogs have grown up and flown the nest, and the best present I could wish for, is that they all were back here in our house for Christmas, that, and that all the family have good health for next year.
What more could one want?.(And don’t anyone suggest a kitten…:D)

When the kids were young just seeing their faces was enough to make me happy.I look beyond all the crap and hype and all i see are business men in suits trying to falsely twang heart strings and fake emotions.
Christmas makes people poor,ill,stressed and friendless.Sorry i should say the commercial Christmas does this.
I feel happy for those that are religious and it means alot to them but as a non believer i would just rather it would start on the 24th Dec and finish the 26th Dec.

Not particularly. I haven’t enjoyed the total commercialisation of it over the past couple of decades.
We try to retain as much of the family element as possible and of course my grandson loves it.
We eat and drink well for a few days and stay well away from the shops for a week.
