I think the crash site itself has now vanished into a huge gravel extraction site. The last recovery was carried out just before the field disappeared and I was invited to attend and amazed at the quantity buried there. A lot of the airframe was still painted yellow, although has discoloured to a strange light brown colour. Glad it has all been saved.

The rest of his Meteor IV VT185 is in store at the Lashenden Air Warfare Museum at Headcorn Kent following 2 recoveries at the crash site.

I have the control column from his Meteor, I have restored it as a sort of living memorial that can be displayed.
