CIS promotes TU-204 in China

The Interstate Aviation Committee (MAK) of the CIS countries and
the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China signed an
agreement on promoting the Russian aircraft Tu-204 onto the
Chinese market. The document was signed in Moscow on Thursday
after the talks with the Chinese delegation headed by Deputy
Minister of Civil Aviation Liu Shaoyong, the MAK said today.
This agreement is a legal basis allowing China’s aviation
authorities to begin the work on certifying the new Russian
aircraft of the well-known Tupolev design office. As the
aircraft’s designers claim, the Tu-204 meets all the
international requirements .
The talks on concluding the agreement started last year. It was
drafted in accordance with the Russian-Chinese intergovernmental
agreement of 2001 on enhancing flight safety.
