And now a KC-135 is missing, not a good week for the US. π

I concur with Sandy about the cargo shift. A similar thing happened to me on a cargo flight (bad loading), but I had enough elevator to keep it under control. The plane rotated spontaneously before Vr. We managed to move some cargo forward to be able to land safely and sort it out.
RIP

Very Shocking footage. My thoughts are with those families affected; a great shame. RIP

The crew apparently managed to radio that they had control problems and suspected cargo shift.
Eye witnesses say the plane rotated normally, but the nose continued to rise and rise, eventually leading to what is seen in the video.
Seems highly likely to be a stall brought about by a severe aft CG moment caused by shifting cargo.
Those poor people were doomed the moment the nose wheel lifted.

The undercarriage was still down which might be an indication there were problems at or just after rotation. Cargo shift at take-off????

Bagram Afghanistan Plane Crash
An unidentified individual has allegedly captured Mondayβs cargo plane crash near Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, that killed its seven crew members.
The video was posted to Live Leak and You Tube Tuesday. Pentagon officials have seen the video and are working to confirm its authenticity.
The plane was not a U.S. military aircraft. It was one of the many contracted airliners that fly in and out of the main logistical hub for U.S. forces in Afghanistan. The aircraft that crashed Monday at about 3:30 p.m. Bagram local time was a National Air Cargo Boeing 747-400F, which appears to be the plane shown in the video.
National Air Cargo owns the plane. It was slated to fly to Dubai carrying unknown cargo. The U.S. and its allies have depended on these types of contracted carriers to carry everything from MRAPs to soldiers into Afghanistan.
As seen in the footage, the aircraft crashed shortly taking off from Bagram. It appears the aircraft stalls after taking a steep ascent shortly after taking off. Taliban leaders have tried to take credit for the crash, but U.S. officials have said they do not suspect a Taliban attack to cause the crash.
The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board has started an investigation into the crash. There is no evidence in the crash footage that an attack caused it.

Very sad indeed. Certainly exhibits all the signs of a stall, great shame.

That was proper scary!

Viewer discretion advised.
You can hear the engines at full throttle and see the characteristic wing drop attitude of a stall. They didn’t stand a chance at such a low altitude.

Sounds like it could be cargo shifting, but such early days yet. Eyewitnesses seem to be describing a stall. Condolences to allcon.

Tragic news π RIP.

Tragic loss, especially as it appears in the report that the nose rose up shortly after take-off and the aircraft stalled due to a possible load shift.

A National Airlines B.747 crashed on take off. No reports of casualties which is usually a bad sign. π
