I am researching the wartime activities of a local engineering company, Balfours in Leven, Fife. A former worker at the factory passed a rather poor picture of a Hurricane wing on a trolley. He stated that the wing and other Hurricane parts were built at the factory but knew little more. An exhibition of the company, which is celebrating its bicentential next year, is to be mounted at the local Heritage Centre. Any information would be gratefully received – the company has destoyed all records before 1960!

With virtually all UK production Hurricanes being built somewhere nominally to the west of London, Scotland would seem a pretty inconvenient place to make wings for them. A CRO would make more sense.
