Classic aircraft and airlines.

Heres some pics of some aircraft, airlines and c/s that have disappeared over the years.

My favs here would have to be the Sabena 737 and the Dan Air 727.

Feel free to add to the pics 🙂

Enjoy 🙂

Funny enough Freddy Laker still runs an Airline. Its not the size of Laker SkyTrain (odviously) but it flys gamblers to Grand Bahama from Fort Lauderdale with a 727.

The old BOAC scheme is very understated. It looked good on 747’s too. Another great shot is a line up of 6 DC-10’s at LGW. Airlines appear to be BCal (4), Eastern (1) and someone else – Wardair?

Danair B727 pic best by far. But a classics selection is very much incomplete without the VC 10!

RE: Classic aircraft and airlines.

Some greats there…

B-Cal used to operate 707’s and DC-10’s to the US from LGW and they were certainly a scratch above the BA of the day. I flew many times on British Midland F27’s and Viscounts, whilst Air UK used to fly Handley Page Heralds. I dimly remember a flight from Amsterdam to Teesside in the mid 1980’s on a F28, which was my only flight on that aircraft. Air UK or KLM, I’m not sure which. The amazing thing is that this was all as recently as the early 1980’s!
