ive got a video about classic planes, my parents got me it when i went to a airshow at duxford in the early 90s, my question is was there ever a Zero operated in the UK, or was one ever brought over from the states? there is a Zero “or T-6” that looks very realistic, there is footage of the Zero dogfighting with a corsair.
was it a zero or a T-6 looka like?
That video is very good, alot of aircraft from Duxford on it.
i have also got the flying legends 1996 video, it is very sad to watch as alot of the planes there are not arround today…

Here’s another one (Abingdon 1990) sorry it’s a bit long range but it was the best I could get.

The Real Zeros used in ‘Pearl Harbor’ were, respectively, owned by David Price, a company called Flight Magic, and the Air Museum’s A6M5…only the Air Museum’s has an original Sakae engine in it, but the others were rebuilt in Russia and later transported back to the states, one of them passing through Duxford on its way (I have the photo from a friend)…All three, as far as I know, are active flyers, two of them based at Chino (one in the Friedkin family hangar, the other is the A6M5 of the Museum). Also in the rebuild shop while I was out there 2 Septembers ago was abother Zero that was making good progress towards flying, but has apparently since departed.

Or how about a P-47? Focke-Wulf 190? Corsair? Sea Fury? P-51? P-40? Messerschmitt 109? (But no Spitfire! Sacrilege!)
The basic concept involves a common-design wooden fuselage box and spar structure. To get the shape you want, you carve polyurethane foam and cover it with high-strength laminating fabric and epoxy-resin.
Have a better look here: http://warbuddies.homestead.com/index.html
This is more in-depth than I can explain, and there are LOADS of these things around – I’ve even got my hands on an FW190 at East Fortune (but that was as close as I got! :()
