Part one, future hopes for the DC6…
we are determined to keep at least one flying, but could use the financial support of a sponsor, in return you get your company’s name emblazoned alongside the UK’s biggest, and most impressive historic airshow attraction.
To see G-APSA mid-overhaul, we have a spring open day on the 19th May, followed by other ‘Classic Flight at home days on:
19th May
28th July
26th August
4th & 5th November
16th December
Open days take place at Coventry Airport West, £10 for ground admission and tour, £55 for admission inclusive of a pleasure flight. More details on: http://www.classicflight.com.
For a flavour of a typical day out amongst the fleet at sunny Baginton, see here:cool:
…a nice compilation of goings on from our last open day in April:

Hi Gary,
sorry about that, it should have appered in my inbox but we have had a few email issues over the last week or so ( I would explain, but it would end up as a long and undoubtedly tedious rant about BT customer service 😡 )…
all is well now, but to be on the safe side copy the request into a PM over the forum, and I will see that it is seen to on Monday!

Inverness request
Will , could you check the Classic Flight email in box, I wrote last week asking for a Rapide to visit Inverness and also offered to do some air to air publicity pics on arrival.

Absolutely, it is only fair that whilst you are stuck in the classroom, there should be interesting machinery grumbling past the window!
😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
If you leave one of the Dakota flights till last we can try out our newly learned skills! 😮 😀

The Classic Flight Rapide fleet has indeed grown from two to three, and very nice ‘RP is too, with its big DF loop and fairing on top and colour scheme that reminds me of a 60s Lotus Grand Prix car!
The end of hangar seven that had contained the ‘secret bomber’ now looks very smart as a general classic maintenance area, the flor has been repainted, last time I looked it contained a Rapide, Heron and a Dakota. We have kept the big white plastic divider that segregated the Lancaster form the Classic Flight fleet, I reckon it will make a great screen to project films onto during open days!

Excellent little movie there Will, good to see I kept my ugly mug out of it. 😀
I can see that those of us on the security course on May 19th are going to be a little distracted!! May I ask if our new arrivals made it this week?
See you next week,
Dave
