Somthing has to be done. Get a conferance between operators of rare aircraft and Airshow organisers, display them and show for example how the Sea Vixen can pull crowds.
This is through my frustration at seeing Canberra XH568 dropping to pieces at Bruntingthorpe – the last time I saw her she looked magnificent at waddington. Have CAP gone under? Surely she could be restored to static condition?
And please sort this forum out – it is so slow it takes me 90 minutes to post

Hi Dave,
That was what was heard in the static park at the recent Brunty Open day, so whether or not its true is up for debate.
Hoping to see your Jet at many an event this year, never fails to impress, shame our Bucc can never be restored to flight status!! 🙁

There is no chance of XH568 taxiing, at least for the foreseeable future.
She is totally gutted, no engines, no instruments, no anything.
Their is a proposal to restore her to display condition and place her on the gate at Brunty, but things have to start happening now!!!!
WT333 on the other hand is coming along nicely, a big hand must go to her team for such a great restoration. 😀

Yeah SADSACK your right about XH568 the way that Canberaa has been left to it is a crying shame.
I think that they have run its engines early this year so maybe their is a chance of it taxing one day.

SadSack,
Tell me more, why do you think a conference is needed?
What we can’t forget is that it costs money to operate these machines, sometimes BIG money therefore it costs money for an airshow organiser to book them. Then we need to think about the number of people through the gate on the day and set an affordable price for admission to ensure you get as many people in as possible so as you can work out your budget for participants. Most if not all operators in the UK need to recieve some money from a show so as to offset the costs of actually getting it there.
