Cleaning digital cameras

Just got back from Duxford and viewed my images. Every one of them has a very small mark in the same place no mater if ive zoomed in or not. I think that ive managed to get a very small hair on to the inside of body, possibly what the image is proccessed on.

How easy is it to clean this and what success has any one had?

Thanks, Archer.

Excellent site.
The device I had heard of was the Speckgrabber. Now I know that if I get one, I must resist the urge to touch the tip.

Cheers, Transall.

Have a good read on this site: http://www.cleaningdigitalcameras.com/

They will tell you all about the issue, after that it is up to you to decide which technique you want to use and whether you would like to do it yourself or have it done by a pro. Good luck!

Hi,

I have heard of the existance of a device with which to clean digital cameras. I don’t know the name of the thing but the principle was said to be that its probe attracts the dust with static electricity. You would not want to touch (or even blow onto) the processor.

I asked about such a device in a large store but they hadn’t heard of it and strongly advised against any attempt to clean a digital camera yourself.

Cheers, Transall.

Rob,

I have exactly the same thing on my D70s – small dot in the middle of my lense. I turned the camera off, pointed an led hed light at an angle into where the processor is, and there it is – a small ‘thing’ Can’t get rid of it! It alos appears to be on the inside. 🙁

Have you found a solution yet?

Cheers

Good luck with the cleaning. They seem to attract dirt/dust anything that flies by.
A thing I learned on another board was to turn off the camera
before changing lenses. This has help here in Texas, the new dust bowl captial.
