OK guys, I’ve been hired for a job in Ireland, and suddenly I have to dress according an offica attire. Now I have no clue what all these things mean.
What are combats? Like in clothwise?
What are Cardigans, also in clothwise?
WTF is a tracksuit bottom
Thanks in advance

Of course it all depends on how long you want your career there to last…

Tracksuit bottom? Isn’t that what lazy men wear all the time. It’s very comfortable, sitting in your sofa drinking beer.
No for god’s sake, don’t wear a suit the first day on your work. Go casual. You don’t want your colleagues to start laughing from the beginning, do you? And if you do wear a tie, make sure it’s classy. No mickey mouse/Homer Simpson ties or even worse, the “easy ties”. Makes you look a complete moron.
If you have guts, I’d wear bermuda-shorts, sliffers and a hawai-skirt on the first day of work. Than go to the boss’ secretary and ask, baby, I have an appointement? … Than make me one.”

A cardigan is something that Daz wears when doing his “I’m a little teapot” impression.

Goddam, I knew that photo was going to come back to haunt me on here!
Still, you’re not getting to see that photo of me in front of the Fokker – that’s worse! :p

Combats – combat trousers, as worn by soldiers; the ones with large pockets on the thigh. Also known as cargo pants?
Cardigan – like a knitted sweater/pullover/jumper but open at the front with the ability to be buttoned up. Bit like a woolly jacket. Go to any old peoples home and that wrinkly fella dribbling in the corner will be wearing a cardy, everytime.
Tracksuit bottom – the lower section (trousers) of a tracksuit, originally designed to be worn for leisure activities; might also be known as a shell suit; generally worn either because they were available in a multitude of colour schemes or because they were cheap (as in easy to make in Far Eastern sweat shops). Regarded as a fashion disaster these days – imagine Ali G – although you’d still see them on council housing estates worn by the kind of people who’d try and steal your wheels as you drive past.

I think a Cardigan is a sweater than buttons in front like old people wear.
Cardigans were fashionable back in the sixties for your typical Jazz lover
