Interesting to learn that the Hunter had an afterburner . !
The intake is underneath, where the airbrake would normally go, so very difficult to see, and was also the reason for the “clamshell” brakes on the side of the fuselage.

Thanks for the heads-up on that, I had no idea it was being shown tonight, a nice bit of nostalgia & good in cockpit shots of the Hunter.

Interesting section in the prog on the high speed flight,I recall the diagram that Andy Saunders shared was published in an early issue of Aircraft Illustrated ina feature on the Meteors with great drawings and pics.
