The trailer for the film Cocaine Bear features a brief appearance of a Pembroke. Just interested if it was CGI or a real Pembroke was used in the film.

I have seen this trailer and also thought, wow, that’s a Pembroke. Pembrokes (mostly ex Belgian Air Force) were indeed used in the USA by drug runners so the movie makers look like they did their homework. The book by Berkeley Rice “Trafficking – The boom and bust of the Air America Cocaine Ring” is an excellent read with plenty of Pembroke references. There are NO Pembrokes currently flying anywhere. There are a few potential flyers in the UK and USA but that’s it. So I am guessing a CGI Pembroke, I may have to watch the movie!

That clip look like CGI to me. It is true that ex Belgium air force Pembrokes went to the USA in late seventies and most were used, and wrecked drug running.
I would say there is maybe one potential flyer in UK, maybe 2 in USA, though I do not recall reports of flights at all in recent years.
That looks like a very missable film!

When I last looked there were 7 Pembroke a/c still airworthy, of which 3 or 4 are in the USA.
