just watched the cockleshell heroes film on IPlayer and noticed what aircraft was being used to practice parachute drops ………
vickers varsity/valletta type i think …….
at least the 1953 film red beret (alan ladd/susan stephen) managed to use a wellington – made around the same time as heroes
ironically the choice of a/c – though anachronistic at the time – now qualifies it as having HISTORIC AVIATION qualities in itself !
