Cockpit dial radium contamination

I thought this would make interesting reading re- radium and contamination, apparently a lot of cockpit dials were dumped on a beach in Scotland during WW2 and it is thought it’s responsible for an increased level of cancer.
There must be a lot to cause this I would I have thought.
