We are looking at holding a cockpit event on 30/03/2013 and/or 01/04/2013 (Easter Bank holiday basically) at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby.
Before we commit ourselves to such an event i would like to know how many cockpit owners would be interested in attending and displaying their cockpits.
The event would be open to any owner of any cockpit and you would be free to collect funds for yoursleves or any charity you felt fit.
There would also be Lancaster taxy runs on the day(s) and the Centre would be open on the saturday and monday of that weekend (closed on the Sunday) with camping available.
We would be happy to hold the event on just the Monday or just the Saturday if that is the preference amongst the cockpit owners.
If you would be interested in attending please state your interest in reply below.
All are welcome and gratefully received!!

Hi All,
The application form is now live for the Cockpit event at East Kirkby.
I would be most grateful if those interested would complete the form and send it back, but also spread the word to any other cockpit owners and aerojumble traders!

And you can count on my JP 5 coming along, although It would only be for the Saturday, easy for me as I live just up the road in Cranwell.

It looks like a 2 day event then!
The Centre doesn’t open on the Sunday so it would be a Saturday + Monday.
I am not sure about the policy of other sites/events as to whether they offer any travel expenses etc.
I will shortly be uploading an application form on to our website for those that would like to attend.
We have a certain number of free weekends in the year for events and Easter seemed to be the most viable for us.
We are open to an aerojumble but have not planned one before, does anyone else think an aerojumble would be good?

I can see the attraction of using Easter but can’t we have an event that’s not on a day when we are meant to be with the families that suffer our absences on other weekends?

And of course, no gathering of cockpits is complete without an Aerojumble alongside it! 🙂

If Shackleton VP293 is still with us next year, the Shackleton Preservation Trust would like to attend with it.
