Neil – if you care to contact me I can direct you to a couple of Hunter cockpits that are available at sensible prices. If your looking for something complete and ready to go I would revise your expenditure.
I have a Hunter T.7 cockpit available to anyone who fancies a challenge -needs a lot of work but has a good history.

Mark G – hmmmm Harr two seater!! nice but again i would rather get one with a bang seat & instruments cos with us its time to refit it all out…don’t matter too much about a canopy – i see a silver Lightning cockpit at Brunty, was a procedures trainer at one stage but they cut it below the floor pan so the weight is less, but was a good attraction….
Learning_Slowly – dummy cockpits, tell me more chappy
For me its got to be around £1k mark, can’t too high unfortunetly cos of the pennies situation…
Anyone hears anymore, notify me asap..

Yep they are like rocking horse whatsit, but there are quite a few dummy ones going around. Ask Seatstar at DX

Good point, but I wouldn’t be too concerned about the instrumentation. Cockpit sections are so difficult to get hold of these days that you need to pounce when one becomes available and worry about fitting it out afterwards.
The most difficult aspect of this one would be finding seats or canopy.

Not a bad price, but you need to look at whether instruments are the same as other types in order to get them easyly. At least it has a trolley with it. Biggest problem with cockpits are moving them.

Neil P, there’s a nice 2 seat Harrier cockpit just gone up for sale on the International Cockpit Club website if you’re interested, and for a far more realistic asking price…

Harrier Cockpit of interest, per chance?
Was interested to see the post. We have a surplus Harrier GR.3 cockpit availabe for sale or trade. Internally stripped (but we can help with some bits), the cockpit is in great shape with windscreen and canopy. Drop me a note if you’re interested.
BW,
Phil

Phoenix Aviation at Bruntingthorpe always have odd bits lying around, try contacting them. I’ll make a note of what they’ve got next time I pop in.

Phil Earthey (Classic Aero Services) has posted messages elsewhere about a GR3 Harrier cockpit being available for sale or trade. Might be worth contacting him?

Not a problem, the only reason I ask is, as I said to a forum member yesterday, teh Vampire is wooden so if it is not under cover it will delaminate. I will have an ask around and keep you posted.

Learning_Slowly: will be kept inside either a Barn or in a garage…
Yeah something like a Vampire or Hunter cockpit would be ideal really, idea is we are going around some events through the summer promoting my Abingdon Fayre events (as in a publicity stand), which incorporates abit about RAF Abingdon & the cockpit would be a good focal point, & to add interest with the stand..
Keep me posted on anything – I will do the same….
