Cockpit Instrument Panel – ID Required ??

Can anyone ID this instrument panel that I have newly acquired? It has a MK4F Gyro so I presume that it is an early fighter of some type? I’m not to sure if the instruments on the right of the panel are original or correct, although they came with the panel. The chap I acquired it from stated that it was a Venom????? There is a part number on the back of the panel similar to 398341 PT/1
Can anyone help with this id???
Many Thanks Darrell

Looks very strange with the tail wheel 😮 . Maybe it was the only jet aircraft with tail wheel?

Hi Herbert, Not the only one, but certainly one of the very few !

It is a Supermarine panel, it is not Swift (well not F7), though the centre panel is very similar, I would suggest either Attacker or Scimitar. Attacker would be a fantastic (and as VACB) says, rare, item to have well done!

Thanks for the suggestion Vacb, if you do come across the pilots notes then I would appreciate any confirmation. I am keen to restore the panel so any pictures or diagrams would be appreciated. I know I have seen this panel somwhere before either in a cockpit or in some pilots notes but can’t think where and it’s one of those things that keep niggling me!

Possible ID

Just a thought but it may be that the part number you quoted is Supermarine.

I think that the 398 prefix denotes a Supermarine Attacker. Unfortunately I cannot find my pilots notes of this aircraft to confirm the layout of the panel.

If it is Attacker then it must be very rare as only a few were made.

Michael
