Cockpit Insurance advice

Hi all

Can anyone help with a bit of advice on insuring a Cockpit section to appier at public events please.

We own a trailer mounted Chipmunk cockpit section which we would like to show in aid of the charity Parkinsons UK at a few events this year. We have been asked to possibly provide our own Public Liability Insurance. The cockpit is privatly owned, not by a company or museum and will only require insurance for 3 or 4 weekends this year. We allow the public to sit in the aircraft, and have no radiation issues at all.

Any advice on suitable companies to approach for cover, cost or any relevent personal expirience would be appriciated.

Thanks in advance.
Ritch and Max Blood.

Google the name Midland Events Club and download their 2016 application form.

They do PLI and Products Liability insurance all-in for a membership fee of £5. Cover is £5m in each case.

Very quick turn round of application and underwritten by NFU Mutual.

Please could we publicise the company names on the forum, so others can see the information. I think this may be of interest to a few of us.
Does anyone insure their cockpits against fire/theft etc?

Hi

Mrs E uses Towergate insurance for her living history group and they are pretty reasonable.

Cheers,

I think I can help Ritch.

I’m just in the process of renewing my own for £5m at very reasonable cost. I’ll forward you the details when I get my PLI certificate through.
