They make things so easy these days and yet guys still manage to land on taxiways! :diablo: In my day we had bits of paper stuck all over the cockpit… 10-A, 10-A(1) etc because you never know which one they gonna give you until the last minute.

So its better to ask while the aircraft is still on the ground? I remember being allowed in during flight best was on way to Kenya spent over an hour up front on a Britannia 767.
Great Days.
Affirm.. You will VERY rarely get in the deck in mid flight, or the jumpseat which was so common to be occupied by a passenger then.
If you are terribly lucky.. I seen some passengers get the jumpseat in a fully booked flight.

Is it worth asking if its possible to visit the flight deck these days.I remember when i was younger spending lots of time on the flight deck but with security so tight these days i assume i would be refused point blank.
Most probably not, I still visit the flight deck on most flights that I go on. I only get refused rarely and the reason given is always a tight turn around. All the captains I have met have always been very happy to have you look round the flight deck
By: NCL_Chris - 31st August 2008 at 14:21
Probably not, however on a fairly recent EZY flight to Barcelona we had to wait parked up for an hour due to traffic at Faro and the captain allowed passengers to go to the flight deck, describing it as “a rare opportunity”
Great thread, by the way!
Anybody got any shots of a Tupolev 154?? I flew on one (Balkan) to Bulgaria when I was 7.
