CockpitFest 2007

Chaps and chapesses,
well in 6 months it will be CockpitFest at Newark Air Museum (over the Fathers Day weekend)…16th/17th June.

It would be great if we could get as many Forumites to attend, especially those with cockpits or interior panels/material.

So who is going and with what?!

I will get the ball rolling:-

The BDAC will be taking a Jet cockpit of some description
The ADC F2 Hunter and something different will attend….

so to coin a phrase….will it be at Fests?!!!

Newark’s website has a Cockpit Fest update part of the text is shown below:

“Cockpit-Fest 2007 Update – 01
The first confirmations of participation at Cockpit-Fest 2007 [Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th June 2007] have now been received and in a great boost to this growing event, four of the first six cockpits to indicate their participation are new ‘cockpitters’ to our event.

These cockpits are: Hawk T.1; Harrier GR.3; Canberra T.22 and Beagle Pup Series 1; which will join previous participants – a Hornet F.1 and Hunter FGA.9.”

It’ll be interesting to see G-BNCY as I last saw her when she took me and my ex wife on our honeymoon in 1989 (25th June)…..ughhh!

Fully intending to be there this year (unless at work). Have made significant progress on F.27-500 G-BNCY and Canberra B2/TT18 WK128. It’ll be one or the other….

I intend going this year (have always missed it due to work and other comitments thus far) and there is a slight chance i will be able to fetch my Auster fuselage frame, that is providing i get it looking like a viable restoration project and not like its just been dragged out of the scrap pile. there are a couple of tubes to replace and decorroding / painting to be done beforehand though.

I am led to believe that Owner and Buccaneer Society Member, John Hoole, is looking to venture to the Fest with XZ431.

Yup.. Just to stop LesB moaning about a lack of Cranberries again..!

Such a delight it’ll be to see it too. It’s the utmost best PR.9 cockpit owned by anybody called Ross I’ve ever seen!!

Notwithstanding that I am spending much of January and February in Italy with work, I will be attending cockpitfest 2007 with a “growing” Hornet cockpit interior!

Looking forward to it…….
