Cockpitfest 2010 Wish list

Hi guys i remember there being a parts wish list for the 2009 event , i thought it would be a good idea to start one for this years event , with only a month to go now:cool:

I will kick it off then , i’am requiring a psp unit for a Canberra 2ca ejector seat, any help to find one would be great.

all the best Matt:cool:

Actually I was looking forward to meeting you and seeing the Hornet for the first time, hopefully it won’t be too long!
Here’s some more pics,

Ross McNeills fantastic Hurrican rebuild, being layed out on the deck like this really gives you a good idea of the size of the aircraft.

Some nice Harrier and Lightning bits

I know this is somewhat after the event (!), but does anyone know anything about the Harrier throttle box in the last of these pictures? It seems to have a picture 9f XW268 by it, and I’m sure I have seen this somewhere else – possibly in a museum display case (I thought it was Flixton but a search a few weeks ago didn’t turn anything up). I’d like to investigate the possibility of reuniting this throttle box with XW268 if indeed it did cone from there.

On Saturday does anyone remember the stall in the aerojumble with the covers that were thrashing about in the wind?

It was definitely John Manning of Aviation Artefacts from Hertfordshire.

mixture of instrumentation and polished collectables.

Sounds like John Manning.

I don’t have any contact details to hand but NAM might forward a message on to him if you ask them?

Gents,

On Saturday does anyone remember the stall in the aerojumble with the covers that were thrashing about in the wind? It was just along from the one selling the Hunter tail cone. Stall was nicely laid out selling a mixture of instrumentation and polished collectables.

Any idea who this person was as they had some bits I meant to buy on the day but got side tracked. Optimistically hoped they would be back on Sunday but no joy 🙁

Cheers,
Jon

To my knowledge at the weekend NAM had visitors from Belgium and the Netherlands; plus an Aeroboot stallholder from New Zealand! 🙂

Matt – I emailed off your details re-the September cockpit request!

Well what a great weekend i had at the ‘Fest’ it was great to meet up with friends and made some news ones too:D
It was really nice to have a large group from Canberra Crazy come and see WH887 ….these people came hundreds of miles to come to this great event.
I also picked up some very nice bits and bobs from the aero boot to help me with the restoration of 887….also dont worry about the Lightning throttle unit its in very safe hands;););)…..all in all a very good weekend and a big thankyou to Newark air muesum for hosting the event and looking after us on the saturday night;)

Lovely Sea Venom, anyone know its full serial?

Hi Pagen,

Thanks for the compliment, the Sea Venom is XG692

This aircraft served with both 750 and 891 Sqns during her time with the Fleet Air Arm and wore the following side numbers and tail codes.
750 sqn (1968-1970 & Lossiemouth) – Side No. 668, Tail code LM
891 sqn (1958-1960 on HMS Centaur) – Side No. 444, Tail code C
We’ve never seen any photos of this aircraft in service, so if anyone has any photos of her wearing any of these side numbers we’d love to hear from you.

Cheers,
XG692

Hi Jon, sorry I missed you, I didn’t see your display did you have the Vampire with you?

No, I brought the Sea Hawk this time. I know you saw that as you have a picture of it above – mine is the restored one with “182” on the side 😀

Was a good weekend. Both for being able to display and meet folk, but also the aerojumble was rather good! As well as getting bits for my projects, I even managed to pick up a few items like stick tops etc for swaps which I am sure will come in handy at some point.

Shame the weather wasnt the best on Saturday but had fun all the same 🙂

Roll on 2011 🙂

Better weather today – we managed a Daktoa overflight

Plus another one on sunday evening, just as the light was beginning to fade and the shadows lengthened.

And there was I, sitting in the field, the only soul left on-site, frantically trying to recall all the many ghost stories in the haunted airfields thread and was there one featuring Winthorpe aerodrome and a C47?

Seriously, thanks to all at NAM for the great effort put into the weekend. And to all the cockpiteers for their fabulous displays.

Weather on saturday apart, it was a great event and here’s to next year!
