The 2012 Tokens are all cut, etched and polished.

I just have to drill out the mounting holes and spray the gold ones!

So they will be ready for the event!

Who will remember to bring the hammer and stamps this year ?

Looking Good… 😎

TwinOtter had the idea that in addition to the trophies for the winners – that every participant at Cockpitfest should gets a small token/plaque.

I have been looking into making small tokens that can be mounted on the trailer/frame or on a wooden board.

As the main point would be the year – over time they would accumulate.

My first rough idea is attached – it is a 7 x 5 cm aluminium plaque that has the words Cockpitfest/ NAM and the year – chemically etched into the surface.

What do the cockpiteers think – too big, too weird – not sticking that on my trailer etc…

Are the token/plaques going to be done again for the 2012 event… 🙂

During the next couple of days I plan to start posting out copies of the group photograph from this year’s event; along with a copy of the museum’s Dispersal newsletter, which contains an event write-up!

From the contact details provided by Bill I suspect that a few people may have moved. If you feel that you might fall into this category please PM me with your correct postal address so that I can ensure that copies reach you.

If anyone prefers to receive the photograph or the Dispersal electronically please PM me your preferred email address!

Finally two of the four displays are now in situ alongside the trophy display in Hangar 2 at the museum. 🙂

It’s not a problem; if you let me have a postal address I’ll send it through with a copy of the newsletter when it’s printed. 🙂

Sorry about this misunderstanding, we do not have one, never had one, as there was only myself with the a/c at various times throughout the weekend if it was given to someone else its probably on their bedroom wall. Maybe we could collect one next year.

OK PC, I’ll return the token to whence it came – as long as you have one!

The event article in the Newark Dispersal newsletter looks to be making about 6 pages (out of 16 in total) – I’ll post more details when it’s printed!

Token

Sorry I have not kept my finger on the pulse with this one with regard to the fest tag. I was not chasing it. Regards PC

The cabinet c/w trophies is already over in Hangar 2 – the individual winner displays still have to be finalised, printed out and put into the frames.

That nice, we did not get one for the F4F!!!

I now have a token – but as yet I don’t have a postal address for you; if you forward over details I’ll send through the token! 🙂

An email has been sent out to the Cockpit-Fest contacts that I have but there was one weblink that wasn’t included, which I know has attracted traffic to the museum website! 😀

Matt I have a bit of an idea of what’s happened so far and I’ll email you the details as I don’t think that it’s fair to post details here on the site of one of the event’s supporters. I had a similar discussion with Anon last weekend at the museum and there are some encouraging items to report.

As a bit on an update I can report that the Trophy Display Case is now ready to go over into Hangar 2 and only last night I completed the first of the displays that will accompany the Trophy Display Case – this was on the Canberra PR7 winner and I also emailed Anon requesting his details for the display.

Using this same materials a feature is also being prepared for the museum’s Dispersal newsletter, which will be printed in the next few weeks. Printed copies or electronic versions of the newsletter will be made available to all participants.

🙂 Since the event we have received one additional offer of ‘support’ for the 2012 event from a poster on here and I’m happy for them to go public if they choose to do so! 😉

Thanks – I’m not beating myself up; just slightly frustrated that I’ve let down a participant.

Take heart from the fact TO that it was enjoyed by many, myself included, and your efforts were much appreciated regardless :).
