I’m pleased to announce that Dumfries and Galloway Aviation Museum will hold the innaugural Cockpits North event over the weekend of 10th/11th May.
The 2 day event will comprise cockpit displays, instrument panel/flight equipment displays, and as a first (we think!!) for Scotland, an aerojumble on the Sunday. The museum will be opening a few aircraft normally closed to visitors, and our annual aircrew reunion event will also take place on the Sunday.
We already have confirmed attendance from a few established cockpiteers and interest from a few parties in both Scotland and Ireland, and we are hopeful that we can bring a some new faces out of the woodwork.
We have ample space for exhibits, gazebos and tents, and selling of jumble next to exhibits is encouraged.
For those wishing to camp overnight a barbeque will be laid on on the Saturday evening. You will be pleased to know that it will not be midge season…
I will keep this thread updated with an exhibitor list and other information. However, if you would like to attend as an exhibitor or vendor, please either pm me or email me at info@dumfriesaviationmuseum.com.
See you May!

It is with heavy heart that we have decided to cancel the Cockpits North event for this year. Designed as an event to bring cockpit owners, panel owners and aerojumblers together in a new type of event for Scotland, with the exception of our friend Steve Austin we have been unable to confirm attendance from any other exhibitors from north of the border. We are grateful for the support offered by Steve and also the cockpiteers from the north of England who had offered to drive considerable distances to attend, but we feel this would be unreasonable when we are unable to match their attendance with Scottish exhibitors.
However, the idea lives on and we may well combine it with another event next year.
Thanks to all who have supported the event.
