Sorry Philip!! My Dad took ill during the day with his back…. My plan was to go round the shelters and anything else I missed in the moning and photograph them after the last fast run. As soon as the two Buccs were done I was off!! Maybe next time!!

L-29 Delfin (Quite impressed on the finish of this ‘new’ toy!)

Iskra (The same can also be said for this). The last time I photographed this was in 1997 and back then she was drab silver!

This one sat low on one side with no oleo showing so guess the seal must have gone!

Aircraft and their equipment..
Thanks guys for the comments, much appreciated!! I can only agree with Wyvernfan’s comments on the taxiing aircraft and the ground support equipment… I think the Transit could do with some TLC on the bodywork now though (maybe next cold war day?)
As much as I’m into my aviation, I just love the series Land Rovers and was very please to see how good this one looked (I actually took quite a few shots of her during the day as she sped around the airfield)

Nice photos of a very good day. I always find Bruntingthorpe quite a magical but also a friendly, relaxed place, with so much going on involving mostly actual live airframes. And for me its not just the fast runs that make this a worthwhile event. Watching and hearing the aircraft taxi back round the perimeter after their runs makes me feel quite nostalgic. The Cold War Jets days are now eagerly anticitated by me.
Also i have to agree about the RAF Landrover, and indeed the LPG’s old (and battered) Transit crew bus. Having period ground support vehicles there too all adds to the atmosphere and general ‘active’ feel of the place :).
