Are any of you talented people able to help us but producing a short YouTube style video to help promote the Cold War Jets Open days? Any ideas on how we could attract more people to attend in August?
Many thanks Mark Etienne

Hi All,
You could always try and contact Richard Browning or Colin Furze ? see if they are interested in demonstrating they’re tech ? In my view it would work to both your advantages,
1st:- You get a good amount of promotion with having him attend. Why not check out The Bloodhound team and other UK based jet engine powered vehicles or Jet engine owners to attend and run in addition other aero engine cars and bikes ?
2nd. You’ll have all they’re fans attend all in all you do each other a great favour with self promotion, though I really do recommend Richard Browning and Colin Furze as a must, then you can add extras it’ll do you all the promotion you want on it’s own IMHO…:eagerness:
EDIT: Just found these links that may help with my suggestions for you ?

A few thoughts.
I’ve known about the Cold War Jets days for years through the Flypast magazine, this forum & Youtube, however I don’t recall any large scale full page adverts.
We only got around to going for the first time last May as my eldest son had joined Air Cadets and I felt he should see live jets from the Cold War. He and his brother have always been impressed by the Lightning at Tangmere. I’d always been interested in going, but living on the South coast I needed that extra impetus to go. I think that is what you have to address, my son and I both thoroughly enjoy the day but noted that it is more for those of us who have a real interest, not a case of “where shall we take the children this weekend dear?”.
Whilst on the subject of Air Cadets, could you not promote the event in that organisation? It’s extremely relevant and with the downsizing of the RAF it will give more Cadets greater opportunity to get close to military type aircraft.
The model flying this year was a good addition. The large scale aerobatic plane was very impressive.
One thing we like is the fact you can get close to the aircraft and visit cockpits, something you don’t normally get to do. You could note this in any PR, though this could be a victim of it’s own success if queues get too long.
Could you diversify and include a Cold War Vehicles gathering as well? my concern is that some people will be put off going by the lack of flying aircraft and you need another interest to entice them.
Could you interest local schools? my children have covered the Cold War at school and seeing the machines from the frontline will give greater meaning to the subject.
WRT Tony T’s comment about being a bit late to get the film, I’m sure if you ask on here for decent footage people will oblige. You can have mine but it’s not great or in quantity. I realised years ago that I was spending all my time watching airshows through the view finder. Now I tend to savour the moment and just watch.

You could do with moving it back to the other end of the airfield as it was a much better viewing site and if you don’t sorting out signage to the show, the guy at the gate telling you to follow the peritrack does not cut it, there were people turning around and stopped trying to figure out where to go, especially confusing was the signage to the track day events location saying all events traffic this way.
As for films isnt it a bit late really without footage.

Hi All,
I don’t know if he would do this request but why not try Neville Wheeldon he makes all the JJ/NX611 videos so is it possible he may be able to help ? or at the very least put you in touch with somebody who may do a better job than he could. ?

Another idea is to contact Andrew Panton himself he usually answers emails and should definitely be able to put you onto somebody:- http://enquiries@lincsaviation.co.uk
