A few from the other side of the fence.
Saturday was spent finishing off a few jobs and general servicing.
XW544 having a new nose wheel…
894 having a new main wheel fitted.
544 was then towed out to the runway for Ollie to fire her up and have a practice, Only got the one photo of that i’m afraid.
The run did throw up a couple of problems which resulted in a wheel change and some fiddling with the hydraulics, the lads were working on her untill 23:30!
Saturday evening saw the arrival of some old bomber so we dragged the residents to the runway for a photoshoot, managed to squeeze a few off.
Two old ladies faceing off.
One of Andy’s gilrs turns up and steps in the middle 😀

A few from the photocall…..

Finally as the sun was starting to set it was time to put them all to bed ..

Overnight some naughty scamp zapped 558! who on earth did that? 😆

As you know we opened the show with our Buccs…..
Ollie with George in the back
A very rare sight….
6 Rolls Royce Speys turning and burning and ready to go.
Thank you to everyone who turned up and i hope you enjoyed it as much as we did, a huge amount of work went into the day and the 3 ship Bucc run, Dennis, Ollie and Mike had zero practice for the run and it was only Dennis’s second time in a Buccaneer, Mike in 894 had only 2 goes before and Ollie in 544 was only on his 3 as well, they did exceptionally well!

The glory of this forum is that we have members who are part of the support teams and/or watchers so we get to see both sides of these events. Long may it continue.

Looking at the state of that nose wheel tyre I can see why it was being replaced. Never pass the MOT with that.

I was there too, and have to say it was one of the best I have ever been to there!
A little more Aeroboot would be nice? But we found the facilities and everything first class. Thanks you lot!

What a truly fantastic day and a big cheers to all that put their hard work in to make this happen. I regularly go to airshows and I know that these aircraft don’t fly, but the atmosphere at your shows is something else. To pack into one day all that action and co-ordination is superb. One thing I would like to see one day is a lovely big super hangar or two, so that you can store your well kept historic gems away from the elements. Maybe one day, if a lottery winner or two is feeling generous!
regards
Martin
